East Midlands Chamber is one of the largest chambers of commerce in the UK and a member of the British Chambers of Commerce network. Operating as a not-for-profit organisation, the Chamber supports businesses across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire through a wide range of services designed to encourage growth, collaboration and stronger business performance.
The Chamber provides membership services, networking opportunities, business advice, international trade support, training and events, while also helping organisations access funding and expert guidance. It plays an important role in supporting workforce development, helping people into employment and promoting health and wellbeing within the workplace.
With around 150 employees working in hybrid roles across offices, business sites and external meetings, the organisation places its members at the heart of everything it does.
When managed print services began to be reviewed, East Midlands Chamber was looking for more than simply a new supplier. Following a tender process, the organisation wanted a trusted partner that could provide transparency, proactive support and a print solution tailored to the way its teams work.
After speaking with DNS, the Chamber felt confident that the approach really matched what they were looking for, both now and in the future. What stood out most was the way everything was explained clearly and openly, along with a genuine focus on building a partnership rather than just supplying equipment.
“What DNS proposed to us and the areas they could help with made us very keen to work with them. We were looking for a partnership with a provider that was clear and concise and that’s exactly what we got.”
Lucy Robinson, Director of Resources
DNS delivered a fully managed print solution alongside print management software that gave the Chamber greater visibility and control over its print environment. This included secure printing functionality, allowing employees to print from anywhere while ensuring documents could only be released securely at authorised devices.
The solution also provided detailed reporting and analytics, enabling the Chamber to better understand printing behaviour across the organisation. By identifying where print volumes were highest and where unnecessary colour printing could be reduced, the Chamber has been able to make more informed decisions around usage, cost control and sustainability.
Regular quarterly reviews with Account Manager, Martin, have also helped the organisation gain more control over its devices and ongoing print strategy. Through clear reporting and open conversations, the Chamber now has far greater visibility into how its print environment is performing and where improvements can continue to be made.
The DNS support team has made the day-to-day management of the print estate much simpler. Issues are quick to log, they’re picked up and resolved promptly, and the support is always clear and easy to follow. This has helped reduce disruption for staff working across different locations.
For East Midlands Chamber, the relationship with DNS has become about much more than managing printers. It is about working with a provider that understands the organisation’s priorities and continues to tailor its services to support the business as it evolves.
The improved reporting capabilities, secure print management and proactive support have all contributed towards a more efficient and sustainable print environment, while also giving employees greater flexibility in the way they work.
“For the first time in a long time, we have a solid, reliable print partner we can count on. DNS is a true partner for us. They help work through things and are very open and clear. They tailor their services to our needs and help make it work for us as a business.”
