Why get your office sanitised during covid-19?
In order to return to working in the office during the Covid-19 pandemic it was crucial to get it sanitised to a professional standard and make adjustments in order to make the working environment as safe as possible for our team.
Therefore prior to anyone returning to the building, our office was disinfected by Account Manager, Malcolm Holmes at BS Handling System.
We decided on the infection control preventative measures program as it was scientifically validated, provided residual protection against germs for treated surfaces, kills 99.999% of germs and is safe in use, non-toxic and biodegradable.
What happens when you get your office sanitised?
Malcom and Managing Director, Robert Brand-Smith talked us through exactly what would happen and left us feeling rest assured that the office would be sanitised to the highest of standards meaning that it would be safe for members of the team to return.
Malcom used electronic dispensing guns to sanitise all surfaces within the building, the fully charged droplets from these guns create an even spread when they hit surfaces and enabled a quick and effective application.

In total it took Malcom 4 hours to sanitise the office. During this time all we had to do was keep out of the way and then we could return to the sanitised environment 15 minutes after which means disruption was minimal.
What precautions need to be carried out before your office is sanitised?
There was not a need for us to move any furniture or equipment out of the way before the sanitisation. Likewise, we didn’t need to carry out any cleaning/wiping down of surfaces prior to the sanitisation as the process doesn’t require this.

What other measures have DNS taken to reduce the risk of covid-19?
As well as sanitising the office we have adopted many other measures in order to keep everyone in the office safe and minimise the risk of contracting Covid-19.
These include:
- 2 metre reminder stickers on the floor to prompt people to stay apart
- Signage around the building to remind people not enter certain sections of the building and to wash/sanitise their hands
- Hand sanitiser stations in multiple locations around the building
- One way system around the building to avoid people passing one another
- 1 person allowed in our kitchens at a time
- 3 people allowed in the break out room at one time with a limit of 20 minutes
- PPE kit for all employees which includes: masks, gloves, sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes
- Temperature gun to check the temperature of anyone before they enter the building
- Cleaning stations around the building that employees can use when they create touch points
- Propping open doors to reduce touching handles
- Daily rubbish disposal
- No sharing mugs or stationary
- Acrylic screens custom made by NCS Trade Signs, to separate desk space within the office
- Gradually bringing members of the team back
